Certificate exams in Polish as a foreign language

What is this?

More and more foreigners need to authenticate their knowledge of the Polish language, which is why state certificate exams have become so popular.

They can be taken at several levels of advancement:

  • A1 – beginner level
  • A2 – elementary level
  • B1 – intermediate level
  • B2 – upper-intermediate level
  • C1 – advanced level

Level B1

Most often, foreigners choose the B1 level exam because achieving this level of language proficiency is required by most institutions and universities.

A certificate of passing the state examination at level B1 is necessary for those who:

  • plan to obtain Polish citizenship,
  • would like to receive an EU resident card,
  • intend to apply for a job in Poland,
  • plan to study at Polish universities.

What does the exam look like?

The state exam consists of five parts:

01.

listening comprehension

02.

reading comprehension

03.

grammar correctness

04.

writing

05.

speaking

The written part of the Polish language state exam requires writing a shorter and longer text. In the oral part, candidates perform three tasks: describing a photograph, speaking on a given topic, and engaging in a dialogue with one of the commission members – a simulation of a daily communication situation.

To achieve a positive result on the exam, one must obtain at  least 50% in each of its parts.

Prepare with us for the exam

The B1 level exam requires candidates to have proficiency in various areas of the Polish language. It often happens that foreigners understand Polish, can communicate, but unfortunately, they do not know Polish grammar precisely and do not know how to write texts in Polish that adhere to the rules of different forms of expression. To level up all language skills and become familiar with the exam structure as well as all exam pitfalls, we have created a preparatory course for certificate exams.

Our teachers are members of examination boards for state certificate exams, so they know best what skills are necessary to pass the Polish language exam. During the course, they thoroughly prepare students for the exam and clarify all doubts related to it.
